piano Welcome to the 14th annual Salt Lake Piano Competition held in Salt Lake City, Utah. This competition is designed for all types of students at different playing levels. We feel there is a need for more opportunities for students to perform and compete and feel successful in their efforts. Students of all ages and abilities should have the opportunity to perform and receive written comments, not just the elite students. Students learn valuable life skills by setting goals and high expectations through competition.

This competition offers students to compete at their playing level and also smaller age divisions. From beginning students to advanced, there is something for everyone. Teachers must register their information in order to enter students in this competition and receive further information.

Advantages of this competition are:

  1. Students can play a non-classical or classical piece and compete against similar styles of pieces.
  2. Students will be placed in small groups of 8-10 students.
  3. Age divisions are small, within 1 year difference.
  4. Students are grouped by playing ability, Gold, Silver, Bronze levels (when possible).
  5. In recital format within 1 hour, students hear others play.
  6. Students receive awards immediately after each recital.
  7. Two judges in each recital for collaboration.
  8. Students may enter more than one category and have multiple opportunities to compete.
  9. We offer a concerto division where students have another opportunity to perform their recently learned concertos.
  10. This competition has the capacity to allow over 500 students to participate!
  11. Everything is done securely on-line. Registration, application, payments, correspondence, and list of winners. Students are grouped and information stored through a secure database for easy management and quick information.
  12. Finally, this competition offers an opportunity for the average, hard working student to the most accomplished, talented student. We feel that both types of students should be rewarded for their efforts.

We hope you will find this competition beneficial for your students. Please take the time to read further about the rules and details of this competition. Teachers must register themselves on-line in order to enter students and receive information. Click on the links above for further details.
