Rules & Regulations
Each competition is in Recital format of 1 hour (might be slightly longer for concerto divisions and advanced divisions). All participants will be in attendance and hear others perform. Judges will make notes and write comments on comment sheets. **No young children in recital (babies and toddlers), you will be asked to wait in the hall. Space is also limited, we ask each performer to limit their guests to 4 in addition to themselves.
At the end of the recital, the judges will quickly confer and decide the winners and notify the recital host. The host will announce the winners and give awards and excuse the audience. **Judges' decisions are final. No speaking to judges before or after please. If there are any problems with this, the parents, teachers, or students will be asked not to participate next year. Please respect the judges' decisions. This is not a black and white sport with only one answer, it is subjective to others' opinions and expertise. *There is no photograghy or video recording during the recital. This is a competition, not a recital. Thank you for understanding.
Awards
Students will receive a trophy for 1st place, medals for 2nd and 3rd and ribbons for Honorable Mentions. All participants will receive a certificate and judge sheets.
As a reminder, for Solo and Concerto divisions you must provide original music for the judges. No photo copies allowed or you will be disqualified.
If entering in more than one category, you must play a different piece for each entry.
